my ears do not prove me wrong - "i want to watch cloverfield!" - jonathan (got owned) yes so let's watch cloverfield. see lah.. regret it hor? lol. but we can change our feelings of regret if we have POSITIVE TINKING. i actually thought it was a not-so-bad movie, but with a really bad ending. (i prefer happy endings, but in the end they all passed. if only they left an extra 30 minutes to dig out a good one...)
14 reasons why Cloverfield is a good movie:
1. i'm thankful we didn't watch alien vs predator 2 instead (CF was gory enough)
2. creative way of filming (leaves a memorable impression, trains how long you can endure dizziness, amateur footage captures the shocking reality of everything)
3. rob is good-looking (lolol)
4. when jason died, it made me think, "look, you just saw ur brother die not far away from you. so how the heck am i supposed to tell mama that he got crushed by this nincompoop..." seriously... poor rob. poor lili.
5. hud provides comic relief (when he kept talking about random stuff, i like)
6. yuhui shared that for the scary parts, she tried to comfort herself by visualising her faculty dance in her head LOL
7. it managed to make me cry and pounce onto poor yuhui (sadly not because i was touched, but because it scared the heck out of me)
8. i like no links. the title "cloverfield" and the content of the movie itself got no link right. the only link i can make of is that the field where hud got eaten by the monster was full of four-leaf clovers. but sad, he not lucky.
9. CF makes us realise the harsh reality - if this kind of situation does happen, no one really survives in the end. sad right? (unless we make friends with the monster - negotiation yo!)
10. the monster was not scary enough. (good thing, if not i think i will need to go to the og29 hospital halfway through the movie due to a panic attack) it just looked like a snail without its shell. so in essence, the monster was an oversized slug. grub. but of course, if i experienced this myself, before the monster even gets a chance to eat me, i will drop dead already... or perhaps i will pretend to drop dead. hahaha.
11. i hope lili survived.
12. so we're stuck in a quandary (lol) as to whether to save your lover's life or to save your own? honestly i respect rob for his undying love for beth. they managed to stay together right up to the (sad) end. i don't know whether to say whether he's foolish or not, but he's definitely selfless and positive. he believed that beth wasn't dead yet, when i seriously thought she cmi alr. should we learn from him if we're stuck in that kind of situation? T.T quandary quandary quandary!
13. everything is random and that's what it's all about - you never know what can happen! like our og might be hanging out at the fishtank when suddenly this gigantic snail pops out and evolves into an unidentified pokemon right in front of our eyes... and then our mission impossible starts off by us embarking on a search for Professor Oak. because we have to get The Ultimate SlugBall from him. before we set off, we form the Fellowship of the Snailshell Ring. yes what the monster slug wants is its shell back. yuqin can be the Gimli the Dwarf. ohmyohmyohmyohmy (to the tune of bai gei ni) i am so mean... don't worry yuqin, you are l33t because you carry around your ultimate weapon, THE AXE! anyone insult you, you can whack them with it. you can't whack anyone inside the fellowship, hence i am safe... lol. sorry for the whole paragraph of crap. maybe it can be part of the plot for cloverfield 2.
(edit) 14. we have to give props to hud - he never fails to get the camera right back to where it belongs - in his hands. BRAVO BRAVO!!!!
overdosage of crap. but honestly i would rate it... 7/10. yee hah!
hahahahahahaha,
